The Guardian map is instructive. Simply bylooking at it one can see that the PRC's claim is just that of a complete bullyboy.
If one took a group of schoolchildren, fromanywhere in the world and gave them a map, diagram or even a pie chart orsimilar different groups round an item to be shared by the people who liveround about an area, say children of around the ages of 8 to 13 or so. Thentell them how important it is to share things fairly and equally and then givethem coloured pencils and tell them to divide up the area I am sure that notone of them would have come up with anything like the long blue line (on theroute of the 9 dash line). They would have fairly divided the 'cake' or area upto give everybody a fair share.
Perhaps after the American and Chineseadmirals have had their video chat we should give the problem to some childrenfrom different countries. I am sure they would do things fairly and divide thesea equally and fairly for their minds would not be corrupted by greedypoliticians, governments with agendas or anger.

The Guardian map is instructive...
It is inaccurate however. China's claim ispresented in a series of dashed lines, currently a ten-dash line. The purpose ofthe dash line is apparently to suggest that China is not claiming the ocean andis open to negotiation on the resources of the area.

One would imagine that, as heads of theirrespective navies they will, or should, have some influence on policy or atleast how any policy is implemented.

Given around 60% of the satellites orbitingEarth right now are American, that isn't going to do much.
But if China wants to kickstart a shootingmatch with the worlds preeminent military and economic power, it won't have anyislands to bitch about soon after. It takes a lot longer to dredge anartificial island that it does to literally sink one.

考虑到目前60%的卫星都是美国的，击落一架卫星又如何。
