That's ahigh-wire act! Amazing drone footage shows Chinese engineers converting a 980ftwooden bridge into a terrifying GLASS walkway above a 590ft canyon

A drone has captured aseries of terrifying footage of Chinese engineers working 590 feet above asteep canyon.

They are working hard totransform a wooden suspension bridge in Hunan, central China, into a glasswalkway.

Currently, a wooden overpass links two peaks of Stone BuddhaMountain in Shiniuzhai Geopark. After completion, the 984 foot longconstruction will become the world's first suspension made entirely of glass, reported People'sDaily Online.

It is scheduled to becompleted by October 1, when China celebrates its National Day with a week-longpublic holiday.

I know. We've allseen China's health and safety record when it comes to building andengineering. I don't think I'll bother thanks!!

No chance thatlooks a death trap and with glass floor! Just crazy.

All these commentsare so negative. I would be more than happy for my ex-wife to walk on thisbridge.

Changing from awood walkway to a glass one will change the loading on the bridge structuredramatically. I hope they have done a thorough job on the calculations.

SLIPPERY WHENWET!!!!!

I wouldn't evenattempt to cross that bridge if it had solid wooden flooring. There is nothingI can think of that could possibly persuade me to cross the bridge with a glassfloor. Just no way !

With all theproblems China has been having with the escalators and people on them maybethis is not such a good idea

Nice to see thoseguys are wearing safety harnesses and tying off. I imagine many dangerous jobsover there don't follow the rigorous safety standards we are mostly familiarwith.

Chinese engineersare doing the conversion, ,,... Well that should be enough to warn you howreliable the bridge will be !!, NO THANKS do wanna die

Great idea and itlooks really cool. I just don't trust Chinese safety precautions. Either theglass will shatter, or it will turn out that the railing is poisonous, or thecables whill be made from substandard metal...

What couldpossibly go wrong?

No thanks. They can'teven get an escalator right.

fantasticengineering, it's a pity we can't do the same here

Just a couple ofthings, the metal that the glass is being placed on is not new construction soI guess it was put in to support the wooden bridge. I hope they have allowedfort the extra 22 tons the glass weighs. Plus, is that area of China prone toearthquakes?
