Russia'sforeign minister has likened the war of words between Donald Trump and KimJong-un to a kindergarten fight between children.

俄罗斯外长将唐纳德•特朗普和金正恩之间的言论之战比喻为幼儿园儿童之间的斗争。

TheNorth Korean leader earlier labelled Mr Trump "mentally deranged" anda "dotard" after Mr Trump threatened to destroy his country.

在特朗普威胁要摧毁朝鲜之后，朝鲜领导人不久便给特朗普起了“精神错乱”及“疯老头”等绰号。

MrTrump responded with a tweet calling Kim Jong-un "a madman" who"will be tested like never before!"

然后特朗普就在推特上回应：“金正恩是个疯子，他将会得到前所未有的惩制。”

Moscow'sSergei Lavrov said a pause was needed, "to calm down the hotheads".

俄罗斯外长谢尔盖•拉夫罗夫（Sergei Lavrov）说，大家需要消停一下，然后冷静下来。

"Yes,it's unacceptable to silently watch North Korea's nuclear military adventuresbut it is also unacceptable to unleash war on the Korean Peninsula," hesaid.

Hecalled for a political process, which he said was a key part of the UnitedNations Security Council process.

"Togetherwith China we'll continue to strive for a reasonable approach and not anemotional one like when children in a kindergarten start fighting and no-onecan stop them," he said.

TheNorth Korean leader had attacked Donald Trump days after his speech at the UN,in which the US president said he would "totally destroy" North Koreaif the US was forced to defend itself or its allies.

He alsomocked Kim Jong-un with a disparaging nickname, saying: "Rocket man is ona suicide mission."

But theNorth Korean leader said remarks by the "deranged" US presidentconvinced him he is right to develop weapons for North Korea.

In anunprecedented personal statement, Mr Kim said Mr Trump would "paydearly" for his speech, which he labelled "unprecedented rudenonsense".

He said MrTrump had insulted his country in the eyes of the world, and threatened to"surely and definitely tame the mentally deranged US dotard withfire."

Experts saythis is the first time a North Korean leader has made a direct address to aninternational audience - and it merits serious and thorough consideration.

China alsourged a calming of the heated rhetoric on both sides, saying the issue was"complicated and sensitive".

"Allrelevant parties should exercise restraint instead of provoking eachother," said Foreign Minister spokesman Lu Kang.

North Korea'snuclear weapons programme has demonstrated unprecedented progress this year. Itrecently conducted its sixth nuclear test and now claims it has miniaturised anuclear warhead to fit on a long-range missile.

North KoreanForeign Minister Ri Yong-ho earlier warned that Pyongyang could test a hydrogenbomb in the Pacific Ocean in response to the US president's threat.

That woulddemonstrate North Korea's claimed thermonuclear capability as a crediblethreat.

But the riskof such a move would be very high. It is not certain that missile defencesystems in the Pacific could intercept the missile, and the risk ofaccidentally striking Japan - over which recent tests have flown - could sparka serious conflict.

Earlier, MrKim's comments had prompted swift criticism from the Japanese government.

Chief CabinetSecretary Yoshihide Suga said in a news conference on Friday: "NorthKorea's remarks and behaviour are provocative to regional and internationalsecurity, and they are absolutely unacceptable."

Mr Trump onThursday signed a new order boosting sanctions against North Korea, where theUS treasury would target firms and financial institutions doing business withPyongyang.

特朗普星期四签署了一项新的命令，以加强对朝鲜的制裁，美国财政部将会专门针对那些与平壤开展业务的公司和金融机构。

He said:"For much too long North Korea has been allowed to abuse the internationalfinancial system to facilitate funding for its nuclear weapons and missileprograms."

The UNSecurity Council had approved new rounds of sanctions earlier this month aimedat starving North Korea of fuel and income, which were in response toPyongyang's much-condemned sixth nuclear test on 3 September.

联合国安理会本月初批准新一轮的制裁旨在摧毁朝鲜的燃料供应和收入，以回应平壤9月3日饱受谴责的第六次核试验。
