China'sfirst manned electric aircraft has been given a licence for production.

中国首架载人电动飞机已经获得了生产许可证。

The two seater plane was designed by Shenyang AerospaceUniversity and Liaoning General Aviation Academy in north eastern Liaoning province, the People'sDaily Online reports.

这种两座的飞机由沈阳航空航天大学以及辽宁通用航空学院设计，人民日报网站报道。



The RX1E is poweredby rechargeable lithium batteries. One 90 minute charge means that the aircraftcan operate for around 45-60 minutes.  

RX1E由可充电锂电池提供动力。充电90分钟就意味着这种飞机可以运行45-60分钟。

The plane has a 14.5 metre wingspan and canfly at an altitude of 3,000 metres.

该飞机翼展14.5米，飞行高度3000米。



Its maximum speed is 160km perhour.  

最高时速160公里。

The aircraft will be used to train pilotsalong with conducting sightseeing tours.

这种飞机将被用来训练飞行员以及进行观光旅游。

Not really. Computer modelling andsimulation means they can do a lot of testing entirely on the ground so theperformance and handling of the real aircraft can be predicted. It also hasvery long wings, so it is actually a glider, it's designed to fly without theengine operating. Plus you give the test pilot a parachute.
