The United States and Cuba have struck a deal to allow as many as 110 regular airline flights a day, allowing a surge of American travel to Cuba that could eventually flood the island with hundreds of thousands more U.S. visitors a year.

The deal that was reached on Wednesday night, after three days of talks in Washington, opens the way for U.S. airlines to negotiate with Cuba's government for 20 routes a day to Havana and 10 to each of Cuba's other nine major airports, the State Department said.

Fifty years of boycotting Cuba didn't work in changing their government. All it did was freeze Cuba in many ways into the 1950's. Time stood still there, in many ways. Maybe a little free enterprise will work. It has done wonders for China. Compare China under Mao and the "cultural revolution," with today. Prosperity is good for all.

Nothing. We got nothing, the Cuban people got nothing, the political prisoners got nothing. The only winners are the Castro brothers who will benefit from all the American dollars flowing to government owned businesses; and Obama who can hang a picture of himself and Castro in the future Obama presidential library.

Why assume that the Cubans will all be coming to the US? With free universal healthcare, an education system that provides for everyone and the fact that gun crime is virtually non-existent over there, I can think of much worse places to live than Cuba.
