Walmart isclosing 269 stores, more than half of them in the US and another big chunk inits challenging Brazilian market. The stores being shuttered account for afraction of the company’s 11,000 stores worldwide and less than 1% of itsglobal revenue, but according to workers’ group Making Change at Walmart, thisannouncement will affect 10,000 US employees.

This wascorporate strategy from the beginning: over-saturate a region with a Wal-Marton every corner; eat losses as long as it takes to drive the mom-and-popretailers on Main Street out of business; jack prices up later; and then'consolidate' by closing the lower-performing stores. This is why franchiseholders couldn't get a lease for more than five years. Where i live (southernNJ), there are three Wal-Marts (one a 'super' store) within 12 miles of eachother, all built within 5-7 years; guaranteed the two oldest in the smallertowns are on the chopping block, along with hundreds of part-time, low-wage,no-benefit, non-union jobs. Can't blame this on "the left" or increasingemployee pay...well, actually, you did, but that's because you don't know howthe Walton's operate.

So the remaining5% could mean shopping trips to another town if Walmart has closed down therest of retail business in that town due to aggressive pricing.

They wont beable to survive- 15.00 per hour per employee, and also all vendors need to payat least 15.00 an hours get ready for 5 $ for a loaf of bread
