A Melbourne man who woke from a coma speaking fluent Mandarin has found love on a phenomenally popular Chinese dating show.

Ben McMahon, 24, was involved in a serious car accident in 2012, and when he came to after a week-long coma his first words were in the world's most widely-spoken language.

If you read the article, it says 'he insisted he was never fluent in the language until the accident'. I studied German in school, and spent time in Germany but I am no where near fluent in the language.

How can Mandarin be the most WIDELY spoken language when English is spoken in 115 countries and Mandarin in only one. I'm quite happy to believe that more people speak Mandarin than English but not WIDELY. Sadly the DM proves on a daily basis that many native English speakers neither speak nor spell English correctly.
