new apartment building in Sydney has mysteriously left off the numbers four and 14 from the elevator.

The disappearance of the two floors is apparently because certain numbers are bad luck or have associations with death among Chinese, who are investing billions of dollars in the Australian property market.

Be as superstitious as you like, missed numbers as much as you like but even if your floor is said to be number five if you have skipped a number it is still the 4th floor.

Just because they skipped the number doesn't make the floor after three become 5 or the floor after 13 not be 14. Unless there air between the floors, they're on 4 and 14.
