Unfortunate vehicle owners on a quiet residential street in central China have fallen victim to horrible showers of bird faeces from a squatting flock of night herons.

中国中部一个安静住宅区的不幸的车主，成了一大群夜莺造成的鸟屎雨的受害者。

Car and scooter owners along Weiyi Road in Zhengzhou, Henan province, have woken on several occasions to the nightmarish sight of thousands of white droppings all over their vehicles, according to Huanqiu.com, an affiliation of People's Daily Online.

据环球网（从属于人民日报）报道，河南郑州纬一路，在不同情形下醒来的小汽车和摩托车车主，都见证了他们的车辆被成千上万份鸟屎覆盖的梦魇一样的景象。

More than 1,000 black-crowned night herons, which have recently migrated, have settled on the road and angered locals by doing their business indiscriminately.

Dozens of nests converge on each tree on the road

Worried residents have confirmed that it is nigh-on impossible to clean the droppings away as more comes the following night - meaning it's never safe to walk under a tree.

Some have resorted to taking a detour or using umbrellas and hats in an attempt to shield themselves.

haha that's pretty funny. I did that to one of my friend cars. I put a bunch of bird feed on it and it looked worse than the first photo. It was great.

The drivers must be simple minded. San Francisco has hundreds of herons, and all a driver has to do is look at the telltale white pavement to know that it is below a perching tree. Either cover the vehicle, or don't park there.
