The earth is becoming greener largelythrough the activities of China and India, the world’s most populous countriesmore usually known for their serious pollution levels.

由于中国和印度的行动，地球正大幅度变得更绿，通常，世界上人口最多的两个国家更为人知的是其严重的污染程度。

Nasa scientists recorded a 5 per centincrease in the planet’s green leaf area since the early 2000s – the equivalentof an extra Amazon rainforest – and were surprised by the cause.

美国国家航空航天局（NASA）的科学家报告说，自21世纪初以来全球植被面积增长了5%，相当于增加了一个亚马逊雨林，而且其原因让人惊讶。



“When the greening of the Earth was first observed, we thought it wasdue to a warmer, wetter climate and fertilisation as a result of the addedcarbon dioxide in the atmosphere,” Rama Nemani, a co-author of the study, said.

“地球变绿第一次被观察到时，我们一度认为是由于更温暖湿润的气候以及大气中新增二氧化碳带来的肥沃环境”，该研究的共同作者拉玛·奈玛妮说。

“Now, with the medium-resolution imaging spectrometer (MODIS) data,we see that humans are also contributing.”

Several afforestation projects are underwayas a result in the northern areas of Hebei, Inner Mongolia and Qinghai,covering 6.6 million hectares, almost the size of Ireland.

（回复1）The team says that 42 percent of China's new greenery is from forests,and 32 percent is croplands. In India, on the other hand, up to 82 percent ofthe increased greens is from crops, while just 4.4 percent comes from newforests.
India's 82% greenery from crops alsodestroy the environment due to usage of fertilisers and irrigation. 4.4%actually real forest greenery increases is very small compared to China's 42%,basically China is ten times (10x) more than India's.
Globally increases 5%, therefore India's4.4% is actually less (negative) than the world's average.

该团队说，中国新增绿色中有42%来自森林，32%来自农田。另一方面，在印度，高达82%的新增绿色来自农田，只有4.4%来自新增的森林。

11、I also noticed thegrowth of forests in Europe. Many Sheep and cattle fields were not being grazed( due to Economic restrictions/subsidies) and the forest was returning.
