One of the creators of an ultra-nationalist Communist Party propaganda video that has gone viral in China has been studying for his PhD in Australia for five years.

一个极端民族主义的宣传视频在中国走红，它的制作者之一已经在澳大利亚攻读phd学位5年。

Lei Xiying a student at The Australian National University helped put together the five-minute clip which warns people to be wary of the United States and foreign-backed Chinese dissidents particularly those that support 'separatist' movements in Tibet Xinjiang Hong Kong and Taiwan.

The video shows apocalyptic images from the European refugee crisis marching Chinese soldiers and riotous scenes from Hong Kong's Umbrella Revolution.

Mr Lei  29 moved to Australia to study international relations in 2011 and has called Australia 'stupid' and the United States' 'running dog' in the past.

在2011年，29岁的雷先生留学澳大利亚，学习国际关系。他曾经把澳大利亚称作蠢货，并说澳大利亚是美国的走狗。

The video was posted to micro-blogging site Weibo by a Chinese Government department on Monday and received more than 10 million views in 24 hours. 

周一的时候，这个视频被中国的一个政府部门发布到微博上，24小时之内就超过了1000万浏览量。

In an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald Mr Lei criticised Australia's relationship with the United States and questioned its independence citing Australia's support for an international ruling that rejected China's claims in the South China Sea as an example.

在悉尼晨报对其采访中，雷先生批评了澳大利亚和美国的关系，并质疑澳大利亚是否是一个独立的国家，他举了个例子，澳大利亚支持一个国际仲裁，而这个仲裁否定了中国在南中国海的领土主权主张。

You criticise Australia's ability to think independently yet I would like to hear what part of your own government's policies you are critical of. I doubt you're willing to criticise them on anything as you'd risk being hauled away like a human rights lawyer on your return to China. I am curious though. Why if you have such a dislike of Australia would you study here?

Presumably his fare to and from Australia his university fees and his living expenses are all paid for by the Beijing government. Were I a Chinese student in Australia I would stay as far away from this man as possible in case I unwarily said anything disparaging about the Chinese government without first looking behind me!

If Australia is a stupid country why has he been doing his PhD here? His comment really makes me angry. The view of his young man is very extreme and silly of course. He expressed his extreme views but other international students suffer from the waves he made. Idi0t!

In my opinion this young man should be sent back to China. He is doing his PhD in International relations? What a joke. China is a big bully in the region. See the way they have been treating Taiwan and Japan! If our government keeps compromising one day China will start to bully Australia as they have done to their neighbours in East Asia.
