When most people think of ideal locations for a family home, they probably aren't considering the bottom of a crater.

However, a family has decided to build a three-storey home at the bottom of a crater at an abandoned building site in Yichang City, China's Hubei province, reports Huanqiu, an affiliate of the People's Daily Online. 

然而，中国一家庭决定在湖北宜昌市的一处废弃建筑工地的一个大坑里建造了自己的三层房屋，环球时报报道。



The structure has been referred to as a 'nail house', a phrase used in China to call something that's stubborn or hard to remove.

这个房屋被称为“钉子户”，在中国这句话的意思是某个东西很顽固或者很难移除。

According to reports, the property in Yichang City, China's Hebei province is almost nearing completion. 

据报道，这栋房屋的建造即将竣工。



It had been built next to homes that were demolished and was in the middle of an abandoned building site. 

它旁边的房子都已经被拆除，而且位于一个被废弃的建筑工地中间。

The house is almost invisible from the street level and these images were only captured because a drone photographer happened to be photographing the area.

According to reports, the owner is said to have refused to move owing to a dispute over compensation.
