Lin Zhouqiang 23 and his wife Xu Qinqin 21 have melted millions of hearts in China with their extraordinary love story.

Qinqin had been ridiculed by her neighbours colleagues and even family members for her disfigurements until she met Zhouqiang who was deeply attracted to her kind heart according to Chinese media.

The couple live in Yuechi County south-west China's Sichuan Province reported Chongqing Morning Post.

Their story has been widely discussed by residents in the village of Zhengjiaba after the couple got married last month.

While I love living in Asia this is an aspect that I dislike immensely. While not as prent as it once was there is frequently an utter lack of compassion or understanding for anyone with any type of disfigurement or disability. These are cultures where "losing face" (an unfortunate expression in this circumstance) is to be avoided at all costs and means that people like Xu will be mocked avoided and treated poorly simply because associating with them or acting with kindness towards them is seen to reflect badly - superstition also plays a part. It's terribly sad and very cruel but I am so pleased that she has found happiness despite all this.

I'll never understand why people would bully this woman -- she has enough to deal with without that added misery. But good for her and her husband to find what many people don't have. You can see she is quite pretty. It seems like her nose could be repaired to give her a more normal life.
