A patriotic Chinese film with the tagline 'whoever offends China will be hunted down' has broken the country's box office records. 

一部以“犯我中华者虽远必诛”为标语的中国爱国主义电影打破了该国的票房纪录。

Wolf Warriors 2 has raked in more than 3.4 billion yuan (￡388 million) since its release two weeks ago. 

战狼2自两周前上映以来票房已经突破了34亿元，合3亿8千8百万英镑。

The film tells the story of Chinese special forces rescuing an unnamed African war zone to rescue locals from rebels and western mercenaries. 

电影讲述了一个中国特种部队在非洲的一个无名交战区从当地叛军和西方雇佣军里营救当地人的故事。

The movie's tagline is 'whoever offends China will be hunted down no matter how far away they are.' 

电影的标语是“犯我中华者虽远必诛。”。

The whole story revolves around China's special forces and their rescue of an African nation in the middle of a civil war. 

整部电影围绕着中国特种部队拯救深陷内战的非洲国家来展开。

It is directed by Wu Jing a popular martial arts expert who also plays the leading role Leng Feng who comes out of retirement to liberate people caught up in the middle of a civil war.

The film features plenty of special effects and explosions somewhat reminiscent of a Hollywood war blockbuster.

However the patriotic tone appears to have been successful beating the box office record. It is expected to rake in more as movie goers continue to head to the cinema.

It was previously held by 'The Mermaid' a China and Hong Kong fantasy comedy released last year. It grossed 3.39 billion yuan (￡387 million).

The film comes soon after China opened a naval base in Djibouti it's first overseas naval base.

Chinese state media has praised the film with the Global Times claiming that the film has made more people want to join the army. 
In an editorial it claimed that the BBC had reviewed the film through western bias. It said that the BBC had intentionally 'thrown mud' at China. 

中国官方媒体赞扬了这部电影，环球时报称该电影使更多的人希望参军。一篇社论声称，BBC（英国广播公司）带着西方的偏见审视这部电影。它说，BBC故意向中国“扔泥巴（俚语：诽谤）”。

Most American movies these days have the US government as the bad guys and a noble liberal e.g. journalist as the force for good. They are just as much propaganda as this Chinese flick - and probably funded by the same people.

What's good for the goose. If China is producing good films it can only be a good thing & even if it produces bad ones at least they are getting some practice good luck to them. They're unlikely always to share the same outlook on things we do & that in itself is likely to lead to some very interesting films.
