China's fleet of high-speed trains is set once again to become the world's fastest.

中国动车组再次成为世界上最快列车。



The top speed of the Fuxing or "rejuvenation" bullet trains was capped at 300km/h (186mph) in 2011 following two crashes that killed 40 people.

From next week, some of the trains will once again be allowed to run at a higher speed of about 350 km/h.

The higher maximum speed should cut about an hour off the journey time between Beijing and Shanghai.

By 21 September, seven of China's bullet trains will be permitted to travel at the increased maximum speed.

All the trains have been fitted with an improved monitoring system that will slow and stop the trains automatically in the event of an emergency.

The nation's rail operator is believed to be looking into ways to upgrade track to let the engines run even faster - perhaps at speeds approaching 400km/h. China is believed to have about 19,960km (12,400 miles) of high-speed rail tracks.

In 15 years China has constructed nearly 20,000 km of highspeed track, and now has a fast, modern service to many major cities. I wonder how many more years this country will be dithering over building under 200 km of highspeed track between London and Birmingham?

We spend billions on electrification increasing speeds by 20mph to just over 100mph when the french, japanese etc have had superfast trains for years! I remember my old top trump cards from 30 years ago where Japanese trains went in excess of 150mph. We don't care about speed and comfort nowerdays it's all about cramming in as many people as poss and charging as much as possible! look at airbus

As a Brit in China I am amused & alarmed at the ignorance of comments made.
Of course China takes ideas as we did. Their technology such as the compass, gunpowder & printing, plus stolen Spanish silver and slavery was the basis of Britain's rise. 
But China now leads in many sectors, and is restoring its usual historical position as a world power that doesn't invade far flung places.

作为一个在华英国人，我被这些无知的评论逗笑了，同时又觉得惊恐。
当然，中国所想的是我们曾经所做的。他们的技术如指南针、火药、印刷，再加上被盗的西班牙银币和奴隶制度，（这些是）英国崛起的基础。
但是中国现在在数个领域都是主导地位，并且正在回复自己正常的历史地位---一个不曾侵略遥远地方的世界性力量。

Until China becomes a democracy and there is true transparency and accountability then corruption will remain rife and accidents like the one above will happen.

Now which country developed the railway system and EXPORTED worldwide?
Which country now IMPORTS most of its railway system?

The Chinese have a remarkable ability to turn rubbish into useful high tech-items.
For years they have been selling the west cheap, useless items that usually end up in the trash and using the money to build things like fast trains and fast computers.

中国有一种非凡的力量，将垃圾转变成有用的高科技物品。

Why are we attacking the UK? China stole the technology from other countries. Which they are experts at.
If almost all other countries did the same they would be punished by the WTO.
