The United States has once again warned Turkey against the purchase of S-400 air defense missile systems from Russia, threatening to impose sanctions on Ankara and also stop delivery of F-35 fighter jets.

美国再次警告土耳其不要购买俄罗斯的S-400防空导弹系统，否则要对土耳其实施制裁并停止交付F35。

The US State Department announced on Tuesday that Turkey would be subject to sanctions under a bill President Donald Trump signed into law last summer, which seeks to punish companies that do business with Russia’s defense industry.

美国国务院周二宣布土耳其可以成为川普总统去年夏天签署的一个法案的制裁对象，该法案用于惩罚和俄罗斯国防工业有生意往来的企业。

“We made it clear that if Turkey buys S-400s… there will be consequences. We will introduce sanctions within Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA),” Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell said at a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing.

The S-400 system, whose full name is the Triumf Mobile Multiple Anti-Aircraft Missile System (AAMS), is an advanced Russian missile system designed to detect, track, and destroy planes, drones, or missiles as far as 402 kilometers away. It has previously been sold only to China and India.

The F-35 is already obsolete because it too many years to correct the bugs in software. Essentially, this aircraft is not an air superiority aircraft,it has short range, it is under armed and has a single engine. It has some stealth features which are probably useless now in view of radar developments in the last few years.
Both Russia and China have aircraft better suited for Turkish needs at a much lower cost.

Forget the F-35's and look towards ordering Russian Jets. The F-35's will be of inferior quality anyways from what they supply Israel like they supply to Saudi's, Maybe consider closing down NATO base in Turkey
