DAVAO CITY – “Build us a railway just like the one you built in Africa and let’s set aside disagreements for a while,” presidential aspirant and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte told China.

菲律宾达沃市 - “为我们建一条铁路就像你们在非洲做的那样，让我们暂时搁置争议”  总统竞选人达沃市长迪泰特告诉中国。

“Build us a rail for Mindanao, build us a railway from Manila to Bicol, I will be happy, let us not fight.  Build us a railway because no nation on earth ever progressed without a railway,” he told Saturday’s gathering of the women’s group called Forum of Women for Action with Rody Duterte (Forward Women) who endorsed his candidacy for the top post of the land.

“在棉兰老岛上给我们建一条铁路，也在马尼拉和比科尔之间给我们建一条铁路，这样我会很高兴。让我们消除争议。让我们建铁路吧，因为在这个地球上没有铁路就没有发展，”他在名为妇女论坛的团体的周六集会上这样说。该集会就是为了支持他当选菲律宾总统。

Duterte vowed to ask China to set aside its claim over the contested islands for a while, so that China and the Philippines could explore trade.

迪泰特声称会要求中国暂时搁置对有争议岛屿的要求，这样中菲双方才能深入发展双边贸易。

“I will tell China to set aside its claim for a while so that I will not bring up the issue of (Philippine) national patrimony,” Duterte said. “But if (China) insists, I will tell them, that is our fishing ground and why are you building an infrastructure that my country does not need?” Duterte said.

“我会要求中国暂时搁置它的要求这样我就不会提出有关（菲律宾）国家遗产（指争议岛屿）的问题，”迪泰特说。“但是如果（中国）坚持它的要求，我会告诉他们那是我们的渔场，你们凭什么在那儿建设我的国家所不需要的基础设施呢？”他接着说。

However, he reiterated his earlier stand that the country would not want to make war with China. “We have to talk,” he said.

不过，他重申了更早的不会选择与中国发生武力冲突的立场。“我们必须交流。”他说。

we don't need the chinksters to build us anything. there are plenty of filipinos willing to do the job and do it better. when chinese build anything it collapses. stop bowing down to these flat faced ugly mongloids. we have plenty of engineers and architects. let them design it and put the people to work.
