The US trade war and a thaw in ties betweenChina and Japan are raising prospects for the world’s biggest regionalfree-trade deal, analysts said on Sunday after trade negotiators voiced highhopes of reaching a broad agreement in November.

分析人士周日表示，美国的贸易战以及中日两国关系的解冻，正为这一全球最大的地区自由贸易协议带来更大的前景。此前，贸易谈判代表表达了在11月达成一项广泛协议的前景。



Expectations of an agreement rose on Sundaywhen the Sankei newspaper quoted Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe as sayingJapan’s relationship with China had returned to a “normal track”.

周日，产经新闻援引日本首相安倍晋三的话称，日本与中国的关系已恢复到“正常轨道”这使得年底达成协议的可能性上升。

Huo Jianguo, a former director of a researchinstitute under China’s Ministry of Commerce, said China urgently needed abreakthrough in the RCEP as it looked to the region foreconomic opportunities to help it weather its tit-for-tat trade war with Washington.
“China has to take the initiative in theforming a new international trade order,” Huo said. “The RCEP negotiations havedragged on for too long and China can’t afford another year of delay.”

中国商务部一家研究机构的前所长霍建国(音译)表示，中国迫切需要在RCEP（区域全面经济伙伴关系）方面取得突破，因为中国期待在该地区获得经济机会，以帮助度过与华盛顿针锋相对的贸易战。
“中国必须采取主动，建立一个新的国际贸易秩序，”霍说。“RCEP谈判拖得太久了，中国不能再拖延一年了。”



In July, Abe pushed for a swift agreement onthe RCEP.
“As weare faced with concerns of the rise of protectionism in the world, all of us inAsia must unite,” he said.
Meanwhile, new life has been breathed intothe China-Japan relationship, with Japan more willing to work with China onBeijing’s agenda.
“One area the better China-Japan relationshipcan work together in is regional trade cooperation,” Jiang said.

今年7月，安倍在推动RCEP迅速达成协议时表示：“在我们面临全球保护主义抬头的担忧之际，我们亚洲各国必须团结一致。”
与此同时，中日关系迎来了新的活力，日本更愿意在北京的议程上与中国合作。蒋瑞平说：“在区域贸易合作领域，中日关系大有可为。”

This deal will change nothing. Japan willenter in good faith, but China will keep doing what it’s been doing forever.

Irrational exuberance, Japan is looking forChina to replace it's trade surplus from US in forms of foreign capital, not apegged Yuan. If China seeks political alliances with Japan, it has to pay avery high price annually.
