老外评论中国网民对网络小说对外输出的评论 [联合国媒体]

有一些老外，看的中国网络小说比你都多，说起《莽荒纪》、《斗破苍穹》、《步步惊心》、《何以笙箫默》来如数家珍，他们也志愿将中国网文翻译成英文等语言。文化交流不是只能靠莎士比亚、孔孟等经典，更要靠通俗文化。

目前在新加坡读大四的印尼妹子Yohanna看的第一本中国网络小说是《斩龙》。这部从2013年开始连载的小说在17k.com上有超过2亿的点击量，也是第一批被翻译成英文的作品之一，对海外读者来说算是中国网文的入门级了。

 Lord Rabbit of the Flower Shop – My favorite is still [Chinese ancient classic] ‘Dream of a Red Mansion’. Webnovels are too crappy in their prose; they are always about Jindan [Golden Core] this and that. Gold your ass, bitch!
Prose is just a very advance Agility Technique, always dancing around the (Sword) point. And I tend to enjoy the more generic Xianxia a bit less(Generic in this case meaning the standard Taoist power systems that are used in quite a few series rather than an original power system).

Assuming first 500 chapters free preview, to read the rest you’d have to spend somewhere between $150-$250. Still think thats cheap? Pay $200 just to read a book? If you are following a couple of novels, one has to fork out thousands of dollars in total.
——Maybe a monthly sub fee for unlimited access season pass to all novels on the website kinda payment model is cheaper, but considering that theres multiple sites hosting all these novels, we’re looking at multiple sub fees every month. Things end up being more expensive than paying for your MMO subs. And ppl still complain about MMO sub fees. Reading as a hobby end up becoming a more expensive hobby than MMO gaming.
——No offense meant, just keeping it real. I don’t condone piracy but i do buy/donate/pay if i deem the author deserves it. After i finish reading it on the net, if its good, i’ll usually buy the hardcover book or ebook

————It’s about 2 cents per chapter. The 0.10 to 0.15 is in RMB. At 2 cents per chapter, 1,000 chapters would be $20. That’s pretty normal for a single normal book here in the U.S. (for hardcovers at least, e-books might be about 30% cheaper), let alone one that is 1,000 chapters long.

Honestly the amount of money you would possibly make from foreign readers for these materials is so small its irrelevant. Yea there is a boom of readers on these novels but its going to reach a peak soon and the population, peak and post-peak, won’t be that large.

I have a pretty good grasp on the characters (I think) and think the translators do an amazing job. As for the pirating issues, honestly, we pay the translators (some of us anyway) and I personally wouldn’t mind kicking in for official copies as well. It’s not like I want to pirate, its just, how else can I get access to them and understand it? I’m really addicted to these novels and love them

As an American, you get pretty used to insults and ignoring nationalism in most manga/LN/WN/XX. Funny how they think Japanese people would be offended by Chinese authors blowing up Japanese cities. Americans most often destroy our own cities. Koreans often brag about things. Japan, money is king. Reason we destroy our own cities is generally familiarity, must be that the Japanese cities are destroyed by Blind Hate, like North Korea with South Korea.

^this has to be the comment that entertained me the most xD
as for my feelings on the news report. i agree with the chinese when they complain about pirated copies that stop the authors from getting their $0.10 for the later chapters of their work. I would be quite pissed if i am struggling to well for myself, and despite my fanbase getting bigger i am earning less. And while I know Ren and this site are fine in regards to this, I don’t know why on earth they went and asked shiroyuki for input, because if they though LLS was popular they clearly missed CD xD.
no offense but this was a person I spent over 2 weeks trying to tell not to shove clippings of the manga pages in-between the web-novel translations (despite the glaring lack of similarities, if the novel says black hair but the manga shows purple wtf??)
IF it means that the original author can earn some money from us reading these translations by this site adding on a similiar feature as qidian, i’m all for it.

 我对这篇报道的感觉是，我同意中国读者对海盗行为的抱怨，这让作者失去了他们最新章节的0.1刀。我也会非常生气，当我生活困顿的时候我的粉丝群变大了但是我赚的钱却少了。我知道Ren和这个网站除了这个都很好，我不知道他们为什么去问shiroyuki 要求他加入，只是因为他们觉得LLS 很流行结果错过了盘龙。
没有恶意但是这是一个我花了两周去说服不要在读网文中期去点开漫画页面的人（除了原型比较像，小说中是黑发的到漫画中变成了紫发？？）
 如果作者能通过在这个网站上加一个和起点差不过的功能获得收益，我完全支持。

——LLS seriously needs a good editor. All the chapters are mess with regards to grammar & sentences. Seriously. There seems to an editor currently but only God knows what that editor’s doing, whether they’re actually messing up the chapters of what only God knows. Some of you might not agree with me here but seriously the chapters are a mess. Not just at times but everytime.

Not sure if they are reffering to us as pirates due to the fact that we are able to read material for free or due to the fact that the translators may be using pirated copies for their translation (or both).
Either way, I am sure some translators try to reach out to the authors, and some even try to gather donations on behalf of the author (TMW, kind of), although I blame the people who can’t read instructions for the donations that go to the translation teams instead.
On a brighter note it would be cool if these comments were translated back like in the past.
Also glad this post was not spammed by F5 / Ctrl+R sect, it would be sad to a certain extent to see that we would be represented by comments related to lord fifth, or with lots of unoriginality (nothing wrong with repping what you love but it gets old like the placer comments).
Take it sleazy guys. (And down with the Blood sect).

That one guy who just read through every chapter of BTTH -_- I hate that guy. If I could I would just devour all these series in one go. Would not put down my phone (way I read he novels) even to take a shower, so it’s a good thing I have a waterproof phone.
