State-owned shipbuilder PT PAL Indonesia launched two warships on Monday, one of which will be the first naval vessel exported by the domestic ship-building industry.

The two ships launched in Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya, East Java, were Missile Destroyer (PKR)-1 and Strategic Sealift Vessel (SSV)-1.

两艘军舰于东爪哇省泗水市的丹绒佩拉港下水，一艘是导弹驱逐舰，另一艘是战略补给舰。

PT PAL president director M. Firmansyah said the PKR-1 was ordered by Indonesia's Defense Ministry while the SSV-1 was ordered by the Philippines' Defense Ministry. The firm secured the order worth US$90 million from the Philippines' government for the construction of two SSVs after winning an international tender process.

if you read the news carefully you would see that PT PAL has also finished building a light frigate warship for the Indonesian navy. Codename : PKR-1. But it wasnt mentioned in the news that it is for the (Indonesian navy). This the quotation below :
"The two ships launched in Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya, East Java, were Missile Destroyer (PKR)-1 and Strategic Sealift Vessel (SSV)-1."

Good to see gov money put to good use for once.. not like they could spend the money else where right? Like the chances of anyone invading Indonesia are a: highly likely yes and b: momentously worth while... I guess they can sink more refugee ships and sell the things as tested... at a bargain with the usual under table rates. Good work Indo, good to know the Bakso guy is safe while he and his fam lives under a bridge.

wow PKR-1 is a Missile Destroyer?? I thought it's just one more Frigate, because the govt will buy more PKR warships approximately 20 ships for Indonesian Navy, last year our govt also decided to buy a squadron of Su-35 fighter jets. what a good news for Indonesian people ^^

Does not matter if the warships were a Dutch design or not the point is Indonesia is building these warships on their own so I suggest you stop getting brainwashed by Foreign propaganda because they come up with any excuse known to man .

So, the Philippine's Defence Ministry bought two SSV's before they've even passed sea-trials for US$90 million, or have I got this wrong?
I found this article confusing. At least the SSV-1 will be named the "Tarlac", and not "Titanic".

On the other hand, it might be a great deal for the Filipinos.
Mind you, purchase contracts for sea-going vessels include some of the toughest purchase clauses, such as penalties for late delivery and such.
Pt. Pal has NEVER delivered any vessel, junk or otherwise, on contractual stipulated time.

Untested? The ship is sisters to other 4 ships of the same class that are currently in service with the Indonesian navy and yes those 4 ships have done some sailing across the world without problems.
No, it is not Dutch design and it is not old. This ship is based on Makassar class design which is based on Daewoo's engineering design. In short, ships of Makassar class is a modified version of korean designed-LPD KRI Soeharso.But PT PAL wanted to be able to export them, so they did some modifications with Banjarmasin class LPD.
The one being exported to the phils is indonesian designed ship with some derivations to the original version of KRI Soeharso.

1. Signing of Contract
2. Production Design
3. Material and Equipment Purchase
4. Production Plan
5.Steel Cuting
6. Keel Laying Assembly and Mounting of Ship Sections
7. Launching
8. Finishing of the Vessel
9. Sea Trial
10. Delivery
11. Warranty
if anything happens during sea trial, the Phils will not lose anything. The ship will be repaired, reengineered until it is ready to be delivered. It is a standard practice in any shipyard.
