And why does the Globe continue to turn a blind eye to the hacking?

Mr Ma laughs at Premier Trudeau as a fool who knows nothing about international trade and business. China will offer Canada only very limited access to Chinese markets and a negative trade imbalance. 
China claims outrageous limits on what it considers its territorial waters up to several hundred miles. China sends its factory chips into Canadian territorial waters and depletes the salmon. Trudeau also accepts that canola oil fraud as well.

So it's obvious that Justin was persuaded on sheer vanity to permit China to export its autos to Canada.
An even bigger trade deficit because there isn't much that we have but commodities that China wants.
It's a lose lose situation for Canada no matter what spin the bought for press gives this waste of time .

since we can't make any money with China selling anything maybe we should start selling our politicians there .. just make sure that we ship them there permanently and then revoke them Canadian citizenship so they don't come back. Have them to enjoy there true democracy.

And once again this analysis shows that China plays this part of the game no differently than do all the other members of the G20. Business and government are deeply intertwined. CEO's travel with presidents and prime ministers to close deals in foreign countries. It's the 'Merican Way. It's about COMMERCE primarily. Human rights and so forth are just window dressing. 
However there is one area where China differs from the US and the UK when it comes to commerce. The US and UK do business with a carrot and a stick. Countries that are too economically independent and insist on remaining so will be bombed into submission as with Libya. As yet China doesn't use its military power to attack other countries when they don't cooperate at the business level.

Jack Ma sole 90000 Canadian lobsters in a one-day sale with his Alibaba. He can sell Canadian blueberry cherry Canolaelectronics be it agricultural fishery ... or any Canadian products with his prowess Alibaba on-line shopping. 
“It’s a political win for Mr. Trudeau as a meeting with Jack Ma can rightfully be pitched as helping pave the way for Canadian exports to gain access to the China market.” 
I would say it's also an economic win for Mr. Trudeau to tap into the huge consumer market with the buying power of 100 million+ Chinese middle-class. It's more than a political win it's the economy!

Trudeau needs to press the Chinese on the plight of the African elephant. They are rapidly declining in number because of the huge desire in China for ivory. It would be nice if he could use his celebrity for the cause of saving the African elephant.

Mr. Ma will likely have an easy time opening Trudeau's mind. Sure wish we had a leader with a little more substance intellectual gravitas and backbone. Canada get ready for a really bad one-sided trade deal that will greatly benefit China.

Trudeau does nothing of the sort. He is not involved in any negotiations and if he were people should be outraged that he is employed by another company and not spending full time attention to his current office.
All this fawning is sickening.
