Singapore singer Nathan Hartono has come in second in the Sing! China competition.

新加坡歌手向洋在中国新歌声中位居第二。

He is the first Singaporean to have made it this far in the popular reality show.

在这档受欢迎的真人秀节目中，他是第一位取得如此佳绩的新加坡歌手。

Competing against five other singers in the finals on Friday (7 October) night he performed with Mandopop mega-star Jay Chou – his mentor in the contest – covering the latter’s hit song “Nunchucks”. 

在十月七号星期五晚上的决赛里，向洋与另五名歌手同台角逐，他同他比赛中的导师——华语流行天王周杰伦——共同表演了周曾流行一时的歌曲“双节棍”。

The 25-year-old Hartono later gave a solo rendition of Chou’s “The Longest Movie” for his second performance of the night. This was good enough to see him in to the night’s last round –  decided based on SMS votes cast by spectators – in which he faced off against Jiang Dunhao.

之后，25岁的哈托尼单独演奏周的“最长的电影”作为（决赛）当晚第二部分的演出。这演出足以让他进入当晚最后一轮比赛——基于观众短信投票的结果——面临与蒋敦豪之间的角逐。

Nathan Hartono is as much a Singaporean as any of us.
Despite the controversial results of the event am proud of his courage and achievements. He is winner as compared to those sour grapes and losers that put him down.

他和我们一样都是新加坡人。
尽管投票结果存在争议，但是我还是为他的勇气和成就感到骄傲。和那些嫉妒者和失败者相比，他是一个真正的赢家。

This show is a joke. If they only want Chinese national to win then don't bother inviting participants from other countries.
For those who watched the Finals the compere explicitly announced that there will be 81..i repeat 81 judges who will cast their votes ended up there were 92 votes in total. This is ludicrous! Where did the 11 phantom votes come from? Nathan was leading all the way until the final round of voters stepped in and swung the lead toward the PRC's favour. Super kelong! This is an insult to the sponsors the Jay Chou Na Ying Wang Feng and Harlem Yu and the participants. Everything was fixed. I wonder if illegal bets were open to the eventual winners

这场演出是个闹剧。如果他们只想让中国籍选手赢，为什么还要兴师动众地从其他国家邀请参赛者呢。

Throughout the competition Nathan acknowledged that he's Singaporean. Never once did he mention why he has an Indonesian name and he has not been asked if he was an immigrant. Let's not forget that most of us are descendants of immigrants to Singapore. I am second generation Singaporean whose grandparents were immigrants. These days there are Singaporeans whose parents have immigrated here from so many different countries.
